Unless it is stated in the rental agreement the rental period will always be unlimited. There can be exceptions if the rental is time limited or if the rental is sublet.
- Unlimited: the landlord cannot terminate the tenant, unless the tenant violates the rental agreement.
- Time limited: it is agreed that the rental period is limited. The rental agreement ends when the rental period ends. So unless other is agreed upon, neither the tenant nor the landlord is able to terminate the rental prematurely. The reason for the time limited rental period must be written in the rental contract.
- Sublease: the present tenant sublets a part of or the entire rental property in a time limited period.
